Emily JinFounder and President
Class of 2020 Emily is a senior who is incredibly passionate about computer science, more specifically artificial intelligence, as well as community outreach.
In the summer of 2017, she attended Stanford AI4ALL, where her interest in CS grew as she was surrounded by other girls who shared her deep interest in computer science. There, after talking to several others and reflecting upon her own experiences, she realized the issues and causes of underrepresentation in technology. As a result, she was inspired to start educAIte during her sophomore year, with the hopes of reaching out to younger students in her community and providing opportunities to explore CS in a welcoming environment. Emily is also the Founder and Executive Director of AIHacks, Southern California's first all-female high school hackathon, which attracted 100 participants in its first year. In addition to computer science, Emily enjoys learning mathematics and physics, and her other hobbies include violin and tennis. In the future, she would like to pursue a career in machine learning and artificial intelligence. |
